I will stick with 2.52. I hate any program that needs a net connection to phone home. When I buy the program, that gives me the license. There should be no need to check back to see if my license is valid.

I know why they did this, but I feel that enforced activation is not the way to go about things. Intuit learned the hard way and backed off. Why can't other companies see that activation is not only ineffective but also pisses off customers?

    AMEN brother!!!

I just started buying everything so I could have the ability to complain and now the very process of buying something is one of my complaints! What the FOOK(can you "say" bad words here?)
Your miserable life is not worth the reversal of a Custer decision.

    I'll second that
    "Amen brother!!!"

IF it's true that Version 3 requires internet activation,
    FORGET IT!
None of my 'work rigs' will ever hook into the net.

Mine neither. I'm reduced to crawling under the desk and plugging in a USB drive and carrying it upstairs to my "video computer."

  6. They gotta start shipping usb dongles if they want to sell this shit. Dongles can be cheap, it was just a few $$ for ABBYY OCR. Or $10 maybe. My choice would be easy anyway, CCE basic cost the same and can beat the crap out of tmpgenc anytime. For newbies: all the CCE guides you will ever need are just 2 clicks away.
