  1. I'm using the newest DVD Decrypter and CopytoDVD. The DVD will play with PowerDVD but not on any DVD player's. If I use CloneDVD just run the DVD in cloneDVD and burn the DVD it work's with no problem.. IF I rip with Smartripper if will not even play on the PC. Thanks.

This is one reason I don't like Panasonic recorders. They tend to foul up the files, especially AC3 and the multiplexing of the files.

DVD Decrypter (I use 3.1.8.0 and 3.1.9.0) in IFO mode to grab the recordings as they were recorded. Then rip streams to HD. Next, use VOBEDIT to properly pull out the audio. Again for the video. If the video is corrupt in any way, Restream it real quick, enabling all the "correction" options you see (video normally fine). Now you've got proper files to work with.

If this is VR mode, a bit harder. I can only use ISO Buster to pull out one big VRO file (no IFO mode, just a single file, regardless of the number of titles it may be). I'm not sure how well your -RAM writer gives you control when it mounts a drive letter for you. For you, the IFO method may or may not work.

  3. there are a number of posts that talk about the issues with the panny and playing on a number of different dvd players. All of my panny work is for home movies, where I need to make menus, chapter cuts, etc. What I do is use TMPGENC DVD author to rip/"convert" a vro file to dvd. After doing this, every dvd player that would not play the original, plays the new version correctly.
