  1. I have an old VOB that has audio out of sync.
I have extracted it and stretched it to the correct length.
I am now trying to figure out what tool I need to multiplex them back together ?

You can use TMPGenc, and the FILE -> MPEG TOOLS -> Multiplex tab, although I don't know if it keeps the VOB special header info.

You could also just strip it down to video only with the MPEG TOOLS, and then drop it into any dvd authoring package with the new audio.

  3. Thanks DJRumpy.
I did try Tmpge but you are correct in saying that the header gets re-written (there is no option for mpeg2 DVD ...its only svcd mpeg2).
I will try mpegtools and strip it down .
The only thing is ,once stripped down to video how do I mux it back (I can't see that option in my TmgencDVD software that will do this ?

There is an option to create DVD compliant MPEG-2. You should use the "MPEG-2 Program (VBR)" option, and not the "MPEG-2 Super VideoCD (VBR)" option, when multiplexing the audio and video back together again.

You would just import the resulting .MPG file as if it was a newly created MPEG that was ready for authoring. I don't use TMPGenc DVD Author, so I can't give you specifics, but it must have some way of importing existing MPEG.

Couldn't he load the m2v and mp2 into TMPEG DVD Author and let it create DVD files. No need to separate multiplex.

He should be able to, but I don't use TMPGenc DVD Author, so I don't know it's capabilities. It it will accept demuxed streams, then yes, he should. Most authoring software will demux a program stream anyway before converting the files to VOB.
