    Hello, i'm trying to make a copy of a dvd that i have. However, the blank dvd's that i purchased are 4x, whereas my burner is only 2x. There's a slip of paper that came with the blank dvd's that says "firmware update required before using new 4x dvd-r discs"... it then lists all the models that this applies too (none of which are the model that i have). However, the 4x's won't work? Any ideas? or does anybody know where i can find an update for a Memorex burner (model 32023251)?

    jtommyj is correct

    You have a Memorex 2.4xDVD+R/W (rebadged Ricoh5125) drive

    Update to firmware 1.64 and you should be fine.


    Check the current firmware version with DVDInfo PRO (also great for bitsetting)
