how to get divx movies closer to 700mb.

Hello everyone. I have begun to convert all of my dvd's to divx and i see that the final product of the movies is always between 670mb and 680mb. I always use divx 4.12, dvdx2.2, xvid minicalculator or dr. divx calculator. I was wondering if there is a way to get the movies closer to 700mb without going over so that I can burn it on one cd-r, and also so that the space on the cd-r is not wasted. Wouldn't the extra 20mb or 30mb help in improving the quality of the movie at least a bit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking.

The extra 20 or 30MB would give the quality a tiny boost, but it's still worth it. You could try using AutoGK or if you're feeling brave try Gordian Knot - they do the same thing but Gordian Knot gives you a lot more control.

Using a two-pass (or greater) method, you should be able to hit your target size +/- 1MB or so.
