I've got a PC hooked up to our tv as an entertainment center. All works fine right now, except for one particularly annoying glitch. Every now and again (30-40 minutes or so), the light on the dvd-rom will turn on, the disc will stop for a second or two, then the audio will start back in, with the video coming in 5 seconds later (in amusing fast-motion until it catches up). It does this on all my discs: xvid and divx files as well as proper dvds.
I thought it was my drive (Pioneer DVD-117), but tonight I bought and installed a brand new LiteOn dvd-rom drive, and it did the same thing! Anybody have any idea what it could be?

a few software dvd-players i have used have allowed for the screensaver to turn on while watching dvds. it pissed me off. i'd check to make sure your screensavers are turned off. if they're turning on, it could just be spiking your memory usage.
also use a dvd player that uses less memory, like media player classicpoop.
