Is it possible to copy a DVD-ROM disc which is larger than 4.7GB? Are there larger capacity discs available, and if not how do the software companies fit so much on one disc?
Thanks Travis

There are dual-format burners on the radar screen but they're still months off for DVD+R and as much as a year for DVD-R. They will burn DVD-9 dual-layer discs which are 8+ GB. -
PLEASE only post video related stuff in the video forums. I'm moving you.

They can fit so much because they use pressed dvds rather than burnt Dvd (unless they are really only going to produce 100's) that means the blanks have a capacity of up to 18gb (and they use compression)

Alcohol 120% would allow you to make an image of it and mount it as if it were a drive i.e. assign the image a drive letter i.e. f:\ and the computer thinks that the disc is in the drive.
