  1. I just had another Panasonic DVD player die with what I now know is a long history of bad motors. I did a search on the Panasonic error code HO7 and found tons of other users with many different models with the same fatal flaw. I am done with their players but I was curious as to whether anyone here knew if the Panasonic recorders had the same problems. I just got an E-50 and if it has the same motor I want to get rid of it before it dies too.
Still a few bugs in the system...

  2. I have the E80 never had any problem's. alot of DVD recorder's are having problem's. Sony bad DVD burner's junk. APEX bad power supply and liteon 5001 over heatting. Pioneer bad TBC. Toshiba has black level problem's. I do not know why you are having alot of problem's with Panasonic. May be the E80 has a better motor. You might want to wait a little while there will be new model coming out soon in about a month or two.

  3. To clarify my post, the widespread problems with Panasonic motors are in PLAYERS. I am wondering if they are also in RECORDERS. TIA

    I have as players; a +- 5 years old Panasonic A 360 and a 2 year old Panasonic RA 82
as recorders: a 3 years old Panasonic E20 and a more recent E50
all still work perfectly, never had a problem

but I noticed these machines are sensitive to overheating; so leave enough space around each of them for cooling and never put anything on top
