  1. I've made several SVCD's from DVD's using the DVD2SVCD tool. I always choose a bitrate of 192 kbps (and downsample the audio to 44100 Hz). Does my SVCD's maintain the Dolby Pro Logic capability (or a surround sound will only be possible with a Dolpy Pro Logic II decoder)? I've noticed that VCD maintain that captability (is it because the audio bitrate is fixed to 224 kbps?), so do I need to change my audio configurations in the DVD2SVCD in order to keep in my SVCD's the Pro Logic?

    Thanks for your help

  2. In theory a pro-logic signal can be encoded into any digital audio stream (its probably a different story if the decoder will decode it properly in many cases), so it shouldnt matter if the bitrate is 224 or 192. DVD2SVCD uses besweet for audio conversions, but what kind of besweet settings DVD2SVCD uses i dont know. For the pro-logic II thing, a normal pro-logic (I) decoder can decode into 4 streams, so there is some kind of surround.
