When I'm backing up Paycheck (R1), I get an error message in both DVD Shrink and CloneDVD that the movie is copy protected.
I have AnyDVD running to remove copy protection.
What could be wrong? Is this some new copy protection that AnyDVD can't strip?
I've successfully backed up a few other movies, but this one has me stumped!
Any ideas?

Hello dvdpete
i just watched my back up of pay check this morning & mine worked great..
All i did was a movie only with dvd shrink (3.1.7 i think)
worked perfect first time
why not try dvd decrypter, if the other 2 aren't workin
what does clonedvd do? think i might check it out!!! -
CloneDVD is very similar to DVD Shrink, in that you can select the audio streams, extras, subtitles etc.
It has a coloured compression bar to show the quality achievable with the current backup selection.
It also has the option to burn or just create files.
You can copy an entire disk with menus, or just an individual track.
It is very good, and about the same as DVDShrink - it's just personal preference.
Personally I use CloneDVD more, because of the burn feature, which I believe DVDShrink doesn't have.

Cheers for the info pete
like you say tho its down to personal pref & i'm happy with the result's i get from dvd shrink & dvd decrypter...
Have you tried doing movie only with dvd shrink? -
U get the copy notice if you have Nero on your computer. Try 3.17 Beta 5 as it uses decrypter instead & is the only one that doesn't give me that message. The older ones, v3 beta5 also work for me.

That doesn't say what version you are using. -
clonedvd dosent remove copy protection unlike dvd shrink of dvd dycripter.
Not bothered by small problems...

Thanks all,
I do have NERO installed. But why & how does that interfere with Clone and Shrink?
Can you help me understand this a bit better please....
If I use DVDShrink (I'll upgrade to latest beta), then do I need DVD Decrypter too? I thouht DVDShrink does what decrypter does.
Is either one better (or more importantly, faster) than the other?
I am running an AMD XP1600+ with 1/2Gb RAM, NEC 1300A DVD, and CloneDVD takes about 30 mins to rip a movie, and 30 mins to burn.
Any help / advice with this? -

FYI, I was able to successfully rip "Paycheck" with DVD Decrypter by itself. The backup was then modified with DVDDhrink (3.17B).

yes, try just ripping it to the hard drive entirely with DVD decrypter and the run it throughtshrink or clone or whatever running from the hard drive.

Update your AnyDVD.
Slysoft updates it every couple of weeks, it's entirely possible that your version just doesn't get along with the Paycheck disc.
