  2. You should read a guide anyway, you will find lots of them at this site. Basicly you need to convert the WMV to MPEG2, then author it and burn it to DVD. For conversion of WMV i dont know any good and easy ways for a newbie, its possible tmpgenc can do it, but it tends to give serious audio desynd when source is WMV. I heard about successfull conversions, so its worth a try.

  3. Bring the wmv back into MovieMaker. Output to avi, then convert to mpeg2 via Tempgenc.

I have used both Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator and Sonic MyDVD to author and burn DVDs with wmv files from MovieMaker. It will handle the mpeg conversion and allow you to create menus.

  6. Hi Thor,

I don't know if there are any differences between MM generally, but I am using version 2.0. When you go to save video file to my computer, the option for avi is fourth from the bottom of the list (DV-AVI (PAL) ).

  7. LabanB, i found it now, its working. DV is not totally lossless, so i wish there was an option for uncompressed AVI, but its not likely to come across so very high quality WMV videos anyway. Thanx again, this is the best method i have tried for WMV.
