VCD60 revisited

Hi folks, I asked this before, but it was in the general/newbie forum (probably the wrong place ). Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows what is the significance of 'VCD60'. It appears on my TV screen when I insert some KVCDs (where it would usually say VCD, or VCD2.0, or SVCD).

Any ideas? I had one suggestion last time that it was to do with 90 or 99min CDs, but everytime I've had it it's with normal 80min ones.

Just a guess but I suspect it's the DVD player telling you that it's not a standard VCD 2.0,I've seen this but only when I play an XVCD of some kind. Happens on standard 80 minute Cd's so I doubt it has anything to do with 90 or 99 minute CD's.

What's odd about it is that while I now have about 7 discs that will make the TV display "VCD60" (and they are all KVCDs), only 3 of them will actually play. The others just don't do anything after that. I am guessing that they have bit rates that are too extreme for my settop player? Does that sound even remotely plausible?

Oh yes, more info: some of my other KVCDs (I'm not counting the 7 mentioned above) make the TV display "SVCD" - no mention of VCD60 at all. But they are still a single movie on one CD so I'm assuming they are in fact KVCD or something very similar...
