  1. I downloaded a vcd-mpeg1 but there are some commercials in it. I first wan't to cut them out before i burn or watch it.
I tried to use tmpgenc video tools to cut it. I thought of saving the first part (before the commercials) and saving the second part (after the commercials) and then joining them back together.
I had no problem with the first part. But i cant cut out the part after the commercials (startpoint x to the end). TMPGenc won't produce a video stream and i get the message "illegal video stream". I tried several times but i always get the same message.
So what could be wrong or how can i do it?

TMPGEnc is fine if the original file was produced/encoded with TMPGEnc. If not, it promises nothing. Try Womble mpg vcr to cut mpg.

  3. You might try VCDgear to do a mpg to mpg conversion w/FIX mpg error check box checked. Then take the new mpg into TMPGENC or try re-encoding the mpg with TMPGENC then take the re-encoded mpg and edit the parts out that you dont want

Womble MPEG VCR is the only mpeg editor there is as far as I'm concerned.
