I'm sure, if you've been to this site a lot, you've come across the "tutorial" on playing video on your dreamcast....don't bother trying....least not ontill you finish reading my post....

that "tutorial" neglects two things....one; you need a "boot" disc, to run then swap with the cd wich you have burned the videos onto, or make it "self-bootable", and two; "to use CDRWs on your Dreamcast. You simply have to turn the poti inside of the GD-Rom 1/4 clockwise and measure 544 Ohms on it. Now your DC can read GDs, CDRs and CDRWs." and not only are these two critical pieces of information ingeniusly left out of the rather confusing tutorial, they cannot be found together in any one text, anywhere.

imagine trying to drive your car with parts missing, no tires.....the thing isn't taking you anywhere,
and you sit in the driver's seat, feelings stupid.
this is where most of us are left, trying
to play video on our dc.

i propose a race, once i compile a COMPLETE primer for playing video on the dreamcast, i will post it here, but if you can do that before i am able to, i welcome you to do so.

we should use this forum to provide infomation, not beg for help.

and if u want it to self boot just get the selfboot prog & tutorial

the hackable ip.bin and the 1st_read.bin (for selfbooting) are included in the gypplay download

remember get the lik sang edition(current) of gypplay

ok, if you would like to play video on your dreamcast, follow these four easy steps

1. download and burn the boot cd image from this page

2. download gypplay

3. follow burning directions in the gypplay readme

4. come back to this post and say "NATUREBOY IS DA MAN"
