Hey. Just stepping into the confusing world of avisynth and was wondering something. Are avisynth filters better prior to capture or after capture? If one method is better than the other method, is there a big quality loss?

I'm not sure i understand your question. How can you use AVISynth before you capture?
If your trying to capture something you should avoid processing as much as possible. Your capture will lose frames if the CPU is busy doing something else.
Can you be more specific? -
Actually, AviSynth can use many of Virtual Dub's filters. Of course, Virtual Dub can apply filters during or after capture.
So, as Au7USA states, it is better to use filters after vcapturing, as it is less demanding on your CPU.Hello.
