I've been reading a lot on capturing on this site (Forum & How to) and found a lot of info on it.

Now I have an old VCR (15 years+) with Video (In & Out), Audio (IN & Out) ports. I'm guessing I have to connect the Video Out to my ATI Radeon 7500 S-Viedeo through an adapter. But I'm not sure about the audio. I have RCA Y-Jacks. On the computer side one goes to the sound card microphone connector. I'm not sure about the RCA side. Does one goes to the Audio In and the other one to the Audio Out connector?

I'm just a bit confused here. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

  2. Go to ATI.com and download the manual for your card. It should answer your questions.

Doesn't seem to explain everything. I don't have a L or R Audio Out. Just have on Audio out for my VCR.

Does a RCA I-Jack exist instead od a RCA Y-Jack?

Two RCA jacks are for stereo, two channels two jacks. Just connect the one, most likley it's a red audio out jack on the VCR. Connect it to the red audio in on your system. Set your audio capture settings to mono, then it will play on both speakers. If you don't capture any sound switch it to the other audio in RCA jack on your system.

  5. Just get a RCA splitter (Radio Shack $3) MFF

I am assuming you have the proper ATI adapter. If you split the sound from the VCR and put the same sound into the L and R ATI adapter everything should work find.

The sound will still go in the computer and out both speakers the same. It just won't be stereo.

Audio and video from your VCR need to be connected to the "input adapter block", that gets plugged into the input jack on Radeon 7500. Then the "output adapter" audio out line is plugged into the sound cards audio in.
