I have a single concert I played on one TRACK in my timeline. I placed CHAPTERS before every following song. Song 1-15. I put a couple CHAPTER breaks even before my guitar solos. Then on my Main Menu I have a list that I made, buttons over each song name and linked them to the CHAPTERS in the timeline. Well, the problem is that my songs dont flow seamless! Lets say I select song 3 and that has a CHAPTER break before the solo, as I watch the song it stumbles to the solo. It slows down a bit and there is a split! Why? Shouldnt the songs play through the markers without a spilt? What do I need to alter about my approach? It seemed to me that this is the way to go about authoring a concert video to DVD. Load the MPEG 2, Chapter the songs in the timeline, Link the buttons to the respective parts of the clip and off we go. NOPE...??? Am I almost outta the woods?![]()

That's strange. I've never seen that happen, but then again, I usually don't link to each chapter from the menu. You could try selecting each chapter in the timeline, and in the inspector window, set the end jump of each chapter to the following chapter. See if that makes it play correctly.

What did you edit on? It sounds like you put CHAPTER MARKERS in front of your solo and other parts.... that is what a chapter marker is supposed to do (well, sort of) You can just make marks on your timeline if you wanted to just note those places in your timeline, and you should have no problem finding them, but when you export, make sure your chapters are the only thing marked, or it will change chapters every time you put one in (but somewhere there is an option to pause a second between chapters... but I don't remember where (I'll ask around and I bet I'll get a quick answer and post it for you
!) So don't sweat it, but make sure you are putting in the correct markers (if you're editing in FCP) Peace

Ok, still waiting for some answers, but I thought of a couple things- one- you said there is a break before your solo... did you place a CHAPTER marker before your solo, then not assign anything to that marker? like a button? You may have set it up to play one chapter per button... you need them to flow (like a movie, but you've got it set up like a tv episode dvd... they don't play continuously unless you put in a play all button. (you know?) the other thing is that you may have to put a button on each chapter marker you marked, or take out the extra markers you haven't assigned) (That could also be messing up the mix) Hope that helps, and if I get any better feedback, I'll post it here- GOOD LUCK!

here's one more tip a buddy gave me:
DVDSP needs 1 second at the front of each track before first marker. It sounds like you imported the clips into DVDSP one at a time. A better option is to make the entire video one clip, then set chapter markers. I put a two second black slug at the front with the first mark "Sart Video" DVDSP will assign the first marker otherwise as Chapter 1.
Hope that may also fix your problem. If it is still a problem, you need to give me more info... what did you assemble your clips on (what program? what are your system info (model ram ect.) and how did you import your info into these programs? (that would help find out where you went wrong) But hopefully that info above will fix your problem (I think it might). Peace"What's a matter Colonel Sanders???? CHICKEN???!!!! -
sorry i took so long to get back. OK, here is what I did and what I want it to do. I made ONE track. That track is my entire show. Then, I placed Chapter markers for the start of every song and at some guitar solos. Then I had the last Chapter marker END JUMP to the main menu. First off, for some reason the end song would play for a half second and freeze there on my DVD. Second, as I said, there was a pause at every chapter marker. Funny thing is, After turning things like Chapter off and then on again on every song, it does not seem to do this on my Test screen. Also, my program started to glitch. What would happen is in my inspector, when I would tell it that say BUTTON 2 was Chapter marker 2, it would still keep making it Chapter Marker 4. !!! I dont get it, does the program just get gremlins sometimes. After I shut down the program and started again all was well? Anyway, yes I am doing it ONE TRACK W/All chapter markers on that track. Then I go to the buttons and assign them there respective marker. Now, the question also is, do I need to set the end jump of marker one to marker 2 and so on? As I said, I send the last marker endjump to Main Menu. I am pissed because It seems that I am 95% home free here. But the little not being able to name a couple buttons to the markers I WANTED and the half second pauses on my Chapters is getting me very irritated. All help is welcomed. THANKS for everyone who is trying to get me there, I appriciate it. JASON.

Oh ya, let me clear up a couple things as well. First off, when I select say song 1 from the main menu, I want it to play through to the end if I choose. Same if I selected song 3, 4, 5 etc... I didnt put the markers in FCP, I put them in fresh in DVDSP2. I want all the songs to be selectable from the main menu, just like most music dvds. Then after the tune is selected, it will play through the rest of the TRACK if not interruppted. So, how do I go about all this. And as I said too, has anyone else expierenced the goofiness in the button assigning, where if you select something for the button on the scroll list, it just keeps resetting to something else? Thanks, what a headache!

Actually this sounds totally different now.... you need to trash your DVDSP and possibly whatever you edited on ( I wouldn't put the chapters in DVDSP, you should do it in whatever you edited on, then import them (it will take them from Imovie, or FCP or FCE.... WHAT did you edit on???)
Well, whatever it is... Trash your prefs and it may fix it all! (That's usually the first thing to do if something isn't working right)."What's a matter Colonel Sanders???? CHICKEN???!!!!
