I tried Cinematize and this does basically what I need it to do, select individual clips from a DVD and import them into FCP for further edits. However, Cinematize does not decrypt copy protected DVD's so you have th decrypt them first. Is there a way to decrypt only a portion of a DVD, save it to your hard drive, then use Cinematize to convert that for use in FCP? I would rather do this than have to decrypt 15 entire DVD's just to use about 30 seconds from each. Thanks.

Cinematize needs a complete Title Set that includes a IFO or BUP. Therefore you can not just rip specific chapters from a DVD and have it work with Cinematize. You must rip a Title Set. You don't need to rip an entire DVD that has multiple titles, just the Title Set that has the video you want to extract with Cinematize.

You don't have to decrypt the entire DVD, just the Video Title Set that you want. You can tell the Video Title Set using the file names:
VTS_xx_0.IFO
VTS_xx_0.BUP
VTS_xx_y.VOB
All these files belong to the Video Title Set xx. The value of 'y' can range from 1 up to 9.
Just load only these files into DVDBackup or MacTheRipper or whatever and rip them to your hard drive and you are set to go with Cinematize.
