  1. I have a movie...an xvid file... i went to watch it today, and the sound is off by a couple seconds.

    how do i fix this..

    Virtualdub. Go to Audio>Interleaving and adjust the audio skew correction. Make sure the video menu is set for direct stream copy before you save as a new avi.

    sorry my aol died before i could edit my post.

    at the beginning, it is out of sync..but towards the middle and the end..its all ok....
    I havent encoded this to mpeg 2 yet..but will the out of sync still happen after i encode?

    or should i use the .wav, i got from virtualdub as the audio input?

    The file sounds like a mess. If you are able to fix it, more power to you. Myself, I wouldn't even bother. Garbage in = garbage out. Good luck.

    Your file has VBR audio...
    It is very difficult to convert it!

    I had the same problem. I messed with this file for 2-3 weeks. I tried everything you could imagine. Finally, I downloaded a free DivX player for the PS2. I burned the file to a CDR and it plays on the PS2 with no problems.
