  1. I am trying to encode a vid clip to the right format to burn to VCD. If the source is in PAL should it be converted to NTSC first? I'm using TMPGEnc to encode the source clip. For more details, look at my other post "Dazed and Confused" from yesterday.

  3. If you have a PAL source, you should try to make a PAL VCD first.

There is a reasonable chance that your DVD player will be able to output it as NTSC if you don't have a multisystems TV.

PAL to NTSC conversions and vice versa often don't turn out well, and even then, requires a lot of extra effort.

  4. What kind of clip and what model of DVD r u trying to play on? I have Panisonic DVD-RV31 and I can take a Divx with 23.976fps and convert to playable 29.97. Whether it is actually 29.97 I'm not so sure but if I take Divx and convert to the same 23.976fps, I have problems.
