  1. Hello,

    What is the best program to convert an episodic dvd to avi?
    I am at a loss (newbie) and any input will be appreciated Thanks for any help!

    This is a purely subjective question so there isn't a definite answer. You have a number of options to choose from. Among the more popular programs are Fairuse 0.4, Auto GK and DVDx. Take your pick, or better yet get 'em all. They're freeware.

  3. Thanks for your input !!! I had backed up the dvd and the reason I want to convert to avi is to fix an audio synch problem. The audio on my back up lags by perhaps a second. So I was searching the forums and it seems the easiest way to fix the audio synch is to convert to avi or another format? to resynch the audio? Ahhh I feel so lost! lol Oh I used dvd x copy express platinum to back up my dvd. Is there a way to edit the audio in vob files since the audio is ac3? Forgive me for being a newbie . Thanks again for your input its much appreciated!!!!

    I do have dvd decrypter to rip to hard drive. I will keep searching forums and reading guides.

    Tried DVD Shrink? Don't convert to avi if you are going to make a dvd.

I tried dvd shrink..same problem.... so I went and played the original in 3 different dvd players choosing english audio... and it appears the english audio lags on the master I think I got gipped. I bought the dvd last year and only watched it once with japanese audio english subtitles. Lil miffed now! Thanks for your input anyways.... im currently ripping it to my hard drive with just the english audio....will have to figure out how to resynch the audio i guess !!! Note to self : don't buy dvd's from swap meets anymore!!!
