  1. I am having problem making the karaoke divx from DVD with Dr. Divx. I can turn the voice off on the original dvd disc but I can not turn the voice off with the divx I made. What program should I use?

  2. I haven't got any experience with doing this, but I have a suggestion that may help.

When ripping your DVD (try DVD Decryptor), check out the audio streams. You will likely have two streams. Find the one that doesn't have vocals on it, and use that audio stream (bin the other one if you have to). Your final DivX shouldn't have vocals in it.

If I remember Dr DivX rightly, it tried to be very automatic. If it's still giving you problems, or won't see/accept the right audio stream for you, you could try progressing to AutoGK. This is easy to use, and I believe it allows you to manually select your audio stream.

Here's a guide to help you if you need to use AutoGK:

    Hope this helps,

  3. Karaoke VCD's sold in SouthEast Asia does it as simple as having the voice on one channel only, and far the most VCD players have mic in and button to surpress voice channel. Check if the karaoke DVD got more than one audio stream, maybe one of them is "VCD type" karaoke.
