Hi guys,
Currently I rebuilt an editor from top to bottom and I am having capture problems. I reformatted the computer's hard drive (20GB system drive) using the NTFS format. I formatted the storage drives (2x 120GB AV storage) using the NTFS file format. We switched the motherboard from the VIA chipset to the recommended Pentium 4 chipset. I installed windows XP Professional and got the windows updates and Service Pack 1. Next I installed Adobe Premiere 6.5. Then i shut down the computer, inserted the Matrox RT.X 100 Xtreme card, started the computer up, and installed the matrox software CD. (which was recommended in the manual) I ran the matrox audio drift detection and set up all my settings how they should be. Then I went to try to capture through a line/svideo video source. Adobe Premiere crashes the second I click Capture>Movie Capture from the File menu. I comes up with a 'send error report' message. I does it every time. So, I completely uninstalled matrox and adobe and went through the same process over again, except I tried another PCI slot for the card incase there could have been an IRQ conflict. I started up adobe and tried to capture again but the exact same thing happens every time. I am only able to capture from the DV firewire source located on the RT.X100 card. When doing a firewire capture it works perfect with no flaws. I am using a Canon XL1 DV camcorder. I really need the analog capture to work because we need to do live captures from in studio footage. I have also read the forums at www.matrox.com to check what else I could be doing wrong. I refreshed Adobe's Preference file, but that wasn't the case. My drive array is set up correctly and I have all the latest drivers. I also cleared the unnecessary startup files in msconfig. Please help me on this issue. I need to get it resolved as soon as possible. My hardware config is listed below.
Pentium 4 (2.4GHz H.T.)
450 Watt Power Supply
Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro Motherboard
1024MB DDR 400 Memory (2x512)
20GB 7200rpm Quantum Fireball (system drive with XP Pro)
(2)x120GB 7200rpm (8MB Cache) Western Digital (AV Storage)
52x CD-ROM
Matrox RT.X100 Xtreme Capture Card
Geforce 4 Ti4600 Dual Display
---Running Adobe Premiere 6.5
---Running Matrox Tools from the CD in the box for Adobe 6.5
Thanks,
Charlie
