Hi everybody,
My PC is P4 3G, RAM 1G with WinXP Pro.
I use AutoGK to convert DVD file (from HDD) into avi (Xvid).
Usually take me for 4 hrs!
Is any way quicker?
Many thanks!

whats the rush ?

The compressor itself can only encode so fast. Any variations in times between different program suites isn't going to be very much.

If you push for more speed, expect a drop in quality.
Personally, I can spend easily 10 hours encoding a DivX on my rather powerful computer. I go for quality over speed any day. Once it's done, you have to watch it. I'd say spend the time and make a decent job of it.
However, this does not address the question. As teegee420 has said, the suite makes very little difference. You'll need to get into the XviD compressor settings and drop the motion search precision or something to that effect. It will then not look as hard for differences between frames, giving crappy video but you'll roll it off half an hour earlier...
Try DivX on the "Fast" setting, this may well suit you better. I have found it to be very quick indeed when I was playing about with the new DivX codec.
