  1. I've posted thisI'm really getting sick of converting partial movies to test diffrent settings, then burning and playing to see what works. What settings do you find that work?

  2. This player cannot play SVCD (MPEG2)but can XVCD: MPEG1 up to 720x480 @ 2500 bit rate I didn't try more. You can burn it as VCD or SVCD by NERO. Both of them the player plays fine. At least it works for my DVD RV31CA. I think RV31 models have a bit diference.

    I have the DVD-RV31r-u

    I was able to play MPEG2 @ 352x240 audio=128 MONO

I'm using CD-RW to test different settings and I can't get more than 2300kps to play smoothly.

I know that many CD-ROM drives can only read RW disks @ low speed, and I think this might be the case here.
I don't want to wast any CD-Rs to just test with.

  4. I don't wanna wreck any cd-rs as well. I've been using RWs to test, burn, and play. I'm trying something completely diffrent now with hope that it works, but these settings have worked for me so far with few problems:

    CBR 1900 VBV buffer 0
    Highest quality search precision
Sharpen Edge(which can be diffrent depending on sourse)
    H 127 V 71

    GOP 1,5,2,1
    CHECK DETECT SCENE CHANGE
    DEFAULT QUANTIZE MATRIX
    CHECK USE FOLATING POINT..
    MPEG STANDARD.
    CHECK NO MOTION SEARCH
CHECK SOFTEN BLOCK NOISE 40, 35

IT TOOK ME ABOUT A MONTH OF MY SPARE TIME TO COME UP WITH THIS AS I TRIED ALOT OF SETTINGS. THERES JUST SO MANY SETTINGS TO PLAY WITH. ANY OTHER TINKERING WHICH MAY HELP PLEASE POST.
