  1. I have a bunch of DVDs that I want to convert to MPEG2 and then serve (using DVArchive) to my ReplayTV. I used MacTheRipper to pull the VOB files off of the DVD. I used ffmpegX to convert to MPEG2 files.

    THE ISSUE:
-- The sound doesn't match the video. It is off by 20 seconds or more at the start of the file.
-- I haven't checked the end of the file to see if it matches up sooner or later.

    THE QUESTION:
-- What are the values for the various settings for ffmpegx that will produce a correctly formate MPEG2 for my ReplayTV (5508)?

    Thanks for the help.

    - Jim

ps. I started with trial and error but it takes hours to convert a DVD...

Best thing to do is use rtvtools. This is a set of 3 freeware utilities (rtvdump, rtvedit and rtvconvert) made to edit and convert ReplayTV mpg2 to DVD format and back.

This link should get you to the downloads you need:

    motogrrl.com/replayTV/replay_to_dvd.html.

    and:

    http://www.avsforum.com

for hints on how to use rtvtools.

I have done ReplayTV mpg2 to DVD not the other way around yet.

    Good Luck.
