  1. Hello dudes & dudettes

Can I convert a video from lets say 29.94fps to 25fps and the other way around? Cuz I want to cut some videoclips and merge them toghether but it doesn't allow two different fps to be joined

    Thanks,
    micheal

It is not impossible, but also it is not easy.

PAL to NTSC might be easier to do. NTSC to PAL is more difficult and in one specific case (Interlace NTSC DV to PAL) very - very difficult to almost impossible without issues.

There are guides to show you how to do it, using various methods.

  6. Thank you for the answers !

Okay, since it is so hard to do it, is there any easy way to just cut video files and merge them toghether WITHOUT being have to think about the FPS

No. Ultimately you will have to choose one framerate for the final video, and whatever didn't match that at the begining will now look strange (either too fast or too slow)

I don't know if this is any good, but it might be worth a look

  8. Thank you once again.

I just had an idea, since I can't do that I will convert all my avi files to mpeg files (i.e. 25fps or 29.97 fps) that way I can choose FPS and have them in my video joiner right?

when you convert them to mpeg you will still have to select a framerate for your output file, so I don't think this will solve your problem.

Yes that is what i meant, wont it work to do this? When I convert them to MPEG (i can choose wether the FPS should be 29.97 , 25 etc etc.. ) Wouldn't that work or?

It depends on the MPEG encoder you're using for the frame rate conversion:

Canopus ProCoder is better than TMPGEnc XPress 3.0.
TMPGEnc XPress 3.0 is better than TMPGEnc Plus 2.5.
