This site has been an unmeasurable help to me since I started using it and I thank the members and contributors. I mostly have used it to help me get my family's home videos onto VCDs, but want to back up my DVDs now. At first I was using Dazzle Digital Video Creator USB, now have a 32MB ATI Radeon AIW AGP card and it works great for me. Convenient to my wishes my CD-ROM drive is dying and I am going to replace it with a DVD-ROM drive. I can only afford the player, not a new DVD recorder and looking at the LiteOn XJ-HD166S at NEW EGG for $32. Is that a good choice? It has good reviews on the web. Just looking for any advice on this or a better product.
Thanks for any help that may be offered.

  2. That is indeed a good drive, not sure about the price as I am not from your neck of the woods. Wish I had bought that one instead of my bloody Asus one.

Thanks for the input and link Hardcore. Man I really want a DVD burner, but it'll actually hurt just to lay out a mere 32 Georges, I'd starve if I spent 80. Got kids and a low income! That's why I'm still stuck with this weak-ass old Dell. Should'a stayed in college, ah well.
    Thanks again.
