Check the add/remove software option in control panel first. Some video codecs may install additional reg settings or programs and this will get rid of them all.

Then go to, Control Panel/system/hardware/device manager/sound, video, and game controllers

Double click on video codecs and look in properties. It will list all video codecs installed on your pc. You can look at their properties for info or you can use the remove option to delete them.

You can also do this for audio codecs by following the same procedure.

Frankly the easiest thing to do would be to really start over and reformat your drive and install your OS again. The problems you have may be irrepairable. If you'd like to take your chances and still remove all your codecs, use DxMan.

Let that be a lesson to you. I can't tell you how many Nimo horror stories I've heard. If you come across a file that won't play, use G-spot to find out which codec you need. Only install individual codecs, not packs. You can find links to many codecs on this site. Just click on Tools>Codecs. Glad you were able to fix the problem.

Thanks! I made it out of a few frames from Kill Bill Volume I. Check it out if you haven't seen it.
