After opting to replace my ADVC-300 with an ADVC-100, because it wouldn't stay locked in analog mode, I was finally able to get the analog to digital conversion and capture pieces of my desktop video endeavor working. As it turns out, the lower end 100 box (with the capacity to be held analog mode, that the higher-end 300 box curiously lacks) turned the trick. I did a 12 minute test capture -- through multiple horrific scene transitions -- and got perfectly synced video and audio with ScenalyzerLive (set to ignore frame drops). Canopus tech support was reasonably helpful, but it seems that the 300 is simply designed such that it won't stay locked in analog mode through rough analog input.
Now I'm shopping for a third-party TBC to replace the functionality of the 300 that I don't get in the 100. I was wondering if anyone has used or can recommend a TBC specifically for use with an ADVC-100?
Thanks very much for your time and consideration.
