  1. Hi All, I have been making svcd discs with titles etc for the last 3 years and now I have aquired a lite on 411s writer. After trying many different discs created using dvdshrink 3.1 and nero 6.2 to burn I found only one type to play perfectly in my pioneer DV-343 standalone player. This was a packard bell DVD+RW as I found all the DVD-R discs didn't work (some didn't even burn to completion). I did seem to find on the various forums that pioneer DV-343 players prefered DVD+R discs as oppesed to DVD-R ones, but after trying some mirror DVD+R branded discs I still got no joy.
So Are DVD+RW discs more suitable in this pioneer player or is it the writer that is being too picky with the type of media it uses. I Have read that 411's manufactured OCT 2003 were a bit flakey with the media they accepted, and after making over 150 SVCD's I'm finding a tough decision to break away from tried and trusted CDr to the newer DVD technology as I read of so many problems people have with media etc.
If someone can help shed some light on possible causes I would be greatfull.

  2. For the DVD+Rs that you've been trying to play, are there dvd compliant files burned to it? Do these disks play in your computers DVD-ROM drive?

    or

Are you triying to put one or multiple SVCDs onto DVD+Rs? What methods are you using if that it is the case?

  3. There's a firmware available for the Liteon 411 that will enable bitsetting capabilities on DVD+R/RW. Bitsetting increases the compatibility of DVD+R/RW discs.

You can download the firmware here: http://www.cdfreaks.com/news/9029
