  3. Lets take a stab and say u got this message after copying a disk to hard drive and it appeared when burning in nero...
Happens sometimes when files dont copy across properly. You have 2 choices really, either let it burn the film and see if the disk will play 50-50 chance or start again and see if it will copy again without any problems.

  4. From what you've said it looks like the error comes from Nero in both situations. When I have gotten this error it usually means I have screwed up the creation of the files that make up the VIDEO_TS directory. If you use a decent appliication to generate the DVD directory (like DVDMF, Adobe Endore, TMPGEN DVD Author etc.) then this should not happen. But when I got it usually was from using ifoedit (which doesn't do much checking when you much around with the .ifo file and .vob files) or DVDFAB

What app did you use to create the DVD directory?

It's a common error message for improperly Authored DVD's. I hear it happens about 40% of the time on downloaded DVD's. I've never heard it happening on Ripped DVD's.

I have had it happen when NERO fubars. If you reboot the message goes away.

  6. Thanks for the replies fellas. I really appreciate y’ll trying to help me with this.

Further your replies, pls find the following additional info that might shed more light on the matter :
    1) first encountered this problem when trying to burn with nero
    2) created the dvd directory twice in two separate partitions on my harddisk(D & G) but in both instances the results remain the same when I try to use nero to create a dvd(i.e. the “dvd-video reallocation failed” error msg)
    3) used dvd-lab to create the DVD directory on the 2 separate partitions
    4) read about it too, this problem appearing on downloaded dvds, that’s the funny thing bout it, mine if from a dv source, I used pinnacle studio8 to download from my camcorder, edit and then import in dvd-lab together with another clip(picture gallery) I created using MemoriesOnTv before outputting to my harddisk. I did try to reboot but the error still persist .

Hope you can help me with this.
