  1. A friend of mine recently bought a new PC. The specs are P4 3.0, 1gig ram, 200gig HD, Pioneer 107d (original firmware).

I installed Clonedvd and Anydvd (registered versions) on his machine. Ripping a DVD is fine. We can create either an iso or dvd folder on the HD.
But when we try to burn the iso or folders, at about the 1minute mark Clonedvd displays writing then aborting and a popup with the error message appears (UDF 5 65536). Could someone please explain what this message is and how to burn successfully. Any and all help is much appreciated.

A quick google for clone DV and the error message produced a page load of possibilities. One in particular suggested two possible fixes. The first - upgrade to latest versions of both pieces of software. The second - disable anydvd during writing.

If you want more suggestions, google away.

  3. Thanks for the help.

My friend took his PC back to the shop and the fella there said to try "name brand" DVD-R's. Apparently that worked for him.

He can now buy expensive blanks while I'll stay with my Princos.
