  1. I recall seeing some guides previously on how you could make a DVD with VCD MPEG files instead of having to convert to MPEG2. I've tried doing a search, but I can't figure out any search terms that would give me an accurate results. So are there any guides that tell you how to do this?

Sorry to sound like a smart-ass but you could start in the "Guides" section. A relatively painless method would be to author your VCD mpegs with TMPGEnc DVD Author, which will import them and resample the audio to 48000hz to make it DVD compliant.

I think its a common misconception that it is a conversion and people look in the convert guides rather than the author guides.

There is no real "conversion" needed - just the upsample of audio from 44.1KHz to 48KHz. As pointed out by teegee420, let TMPGEnc DVD Author do all the work and its really quite simple.
    If in doubt, Google it.

That's actually exactly what I did. I tried to search through all of the guides, but there was no way I could figure out a way to narrow down the results, since the search terms were all so common. I looked on the Convert section for something like VCD to DVD.

Anyway, thanks for the links, I'll check those out.
