Hey all,
I just bought my R200 and will be setting it up. I've read in outher threads about going with the regular Photo setting with a +1 on most things.
I was thinking about getting the ProDisc 4x Silver Inkjet Printable without the stacking ring (print to hub) from supermediastore. Are these Discs any good? I currently only use Ritek orange top and haven't had a caoster with them yet.
Second, can the R200 print to the hub?
Do you have to hack the registry setting or is there a setting in the included Epson software for these discs. I ask because I've yet to see anyone post something about printing to the hub with a R200
:edit: Sorry, the URL was to the wrong store![]()
Also, I desided to take a chance and order some of the (50) just to see how well the burn/read/print

If you use the supplied Epson software you can set the internal diameter to 20mm, it won't go any lower. Just had a flick through a few original DVD's of mine and the internal diameter is 21mm. Should be fine, fingers crossed.

IT'S YOUR LUCKY DAY!!!
I have been using ProdiscS03 silver printables for a week now and finally did a print all the way to the hub an hour ago.
Use 21mm for the inner ring diameter!
I've been using -2 and -3 and they look as good as -1 and 0
I guess there is only so much ink the top can soak up. -

I've been wanting to get these silver Prodiscs since I've been using the slightly more expensive white 4x BeAlls DVD-Rs from Meritline. I've been printing to the hub with the BeAlls & my R300 & they've come out great. They play flawlessly in all my DVD players including my v1 PS2. They are so much cooler than sticky labels!
Has anyone had experience with both the BeAlls & the Prodisc to make a comparison?
Thanks,

Hi,
I've printed ~500 BeAlls so far and the quality is very good. Depending on the picture's predominant color it takes different time for them to dry /black takes most time/ and even after a day or two the surface sometimes is somewhat "sticky". Overall bearing in mind that if you don't put fingers on the disc and you don't watch DVD under the shower the quality is satisfactory.
My settings for the R300 are 20mm/117mm -2, -1.
Enjoy! -
I've only used G04, RICOHJs and PRODISCS03's
But, I have had perfect discs so far. I am 30 for 30 on those. Burning 4X on NEC1300A currently. I think I burned some on the 708A before it went back to for repairs.
I am getting another pack of 50 today. -
I still think the G04 have the prettiest and smoothest surface for printing. The silver tops are OK, they seem only to need a little bit of ink and the surface is a bit rough.

Based on the minimal reviews, the 1 scan I saw, and Roger's comment in the avoid supermediastore thread, I decided to buy 50 of the Silver inkjet printable ProDisc's without the stacking rings (print to hub) The link is in my first port
I will post my comments about burning and printing after I get them -
I got my 2nd pack of 50 today. Meritline had free shipping an 10% off on these and I got these 2nd day.

I bought the silver Prodisc from Supermedia a few weeks ago. I had no problem printing with my Photo 900 at photo quality glossy film and best photo settings. I do not consider them true print to hub discs. I bought the Prodisc white inkjet printable that where print to hub and used 23mm in the settings. The problem I encountered with them was when I burnt a full disc the end of the movie would freeze so I had to change the settings of DVD2One from 4472 MB to 4200. I guess my discs have a problem burning on the outside. I do not know if this is only a problem with my batch of white because I do not have the same problem with the silver. By the way I set the silvers to 33mm while the regular printables are 43mm.

My update
Just got my order of ProDisc silver top inkjet from supermediastore today. Burned 3 so far without any problems.
I ran them all through dvdinfopro for read errors
Burned 4.33gb, 4.29gb, 4.30gb
To tell ya the truth, I think my next order is going to be the white tops. I really don't care for the iridescent look to the disk...

I was going to post a scan, but it really didn't look the same as the DVD printed....Imagine a pearl texture to a DVD -
OK here's a scan.....
The lighting sucks next to the left and right side of the text. This is due to the refraction of the silver matting of the DVD. What I have found is that the darker the image being printed to these silver tops the better. I printed using the best possible settings with +1 setting
BTW, I did burn a coaster with the ProDiscs. My fault as I was doing a little to many multi-tasks... I decided to dropped the printed coaster in hot (real hot) soapy water.....The ink released instantly...About 2 minutes later, the coating of the DVD released. Just a plain ole silver coated DVD was left. The coating that released was like geliten or a real lite glueish stuff[/img] -
I checked the Prodisc white inkjet printable discs that I burnt with DVDinfo Pro and every one of the 10 has major errors at around the 3 gig mark. I sent a RMA request to Supermedia Store. The 8 silver inkjet printables had no errors so maybe it was a bad batch of white, I hope. After your post about looking better with more ink I changed my settings to plan paper and was very pleased with the results. Not every cd label looks good using it but the ones that seem made for the hologram like image are awesome.

Hi,
Both settings apply to the same. I use -2 with darker pictures and -1 with brighter. Almost never used 0 or more. Some of the Riteks have blurry surface and need more ink. Bealls need more ink too.
Enjoy! -

As someone already mentioned it seems to not take the ink as well and takes longer to dry. My prints come out lighter and a little less detail than the Ritek. I wish Ritek made hub printable. I may try a +1 or +2 setting, but I don't want to too much ink down if the problem is that it can't take that much ink. I noticed quite a few -1 and -2 settings listed here. Has anyone tried a +2 on the BeAll media?

I set up a specific CD/DVD printing profile in the "printer's" advanced settings for my particular needs. Your will be diferent. Once I was pleased with the results, I saved that setting. All I have to do is access that profile in the advanced settings section of the Epson printing interface. I leave the settings at neutral in the Epson CD printing software. Since I also use the R300 for other jobs, I've also created other profiles for specific types of papers.

I forgot to mention I have the Epson Photo 900 that I just use for CD/DVD printing.
