Have the latest version of DVDShrink, have a 1gig pentium 3 processor, 1.5 gigs memory, 40 meg hard drive. During the second stage (the encoding stage), DVDShrink keeps bufferring the movie at an approximate rate of 8750 kb/sec. When it gets to 1657 megabytes, I always get the same message: DVDShrink encountered an error and cannot continue- out of memory, not enough storage is available to process this command The computer will not take any more memory, so I'm limited to 1.5gigs. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Joe

Unless this is a problem that is known of and someone else here can help, I'd suggest you ask over at this place

After a quick scout around there, I found this.

Just a thought: In the preferences section you can check a box for splitting VOB files into 1GB chunks. I recall reading of similiar problems solved by this feature, something about 4GB file limits in certain Windows versions or disk formats.

Now i assume you mean 40 Gig.
How much space do you have left on the drive ?

Unlikly that you have a 4 gig vob. The limit is single file size so unless you are doing a iso then you should not get anywhere near it.

  6. Try an older version of shrink. Many people do that. V3 Beta 5 is a favorite.

  7. Do you read directly from the DVD ??? I have a similar problem with a scratched disk. It has been resolved by ripping to the HDD before shrinking it.

  8. Are your multiple attempts on the 'same' movie disk? If so, try ripping a different movie. If that works, maybe something is wrong with your source disk. I have had similar problems trying to copy scratched disks, otherwise that version of Shrink has always worked great.
If it works, don't fix it.
