  1. How does one enable UDMA in the Bios. I've heard this will help rip DVD faster. Ive tried changing it in device manager but it always says second IDE controller is on PIO mode. My primary IDE is set to DMA and it stays there. Do I need to change the secondary one? Ive been ripping at 2x at the most. I also have the latest firmware.

    thanks

  2. yes change both IDEs to DMA. XP has a bug that switches it to PIO on your though. you have to select remove or uninstall the IDE channel in Device manager. it will reboot and redetect the channel and should once more be in DMA mode.

depending on your BIOS you may have to turn to enable it in the BIOS. Most should be enabled by default but mine wasn't. I would have to be in front of my PC at home to give you more details. (we only have macs at work )

  4. Whenever I try to set my secondary IDE controller to DMA, my liteon DVD
16X disappears from my device manager as well as in my computer? To solve this I have to uninstall both the primary and secondary IDE controllers. After restarting my computer, my primary drive stays and remains on DMA, but my secondary IDE controller reverts to PIO mode. If I try to change it the above mentioned occurs. How do I solve this?
