Hey all. Does anybody know about this device?
    http://www.adstech.com/products/RDX-160/intro/RDX-160_intro.asp?pid=RDX-160
Supposedly it can increase the h.264 encoding speed by 4x or 5x. Obviously it's not hardware accelerated since it's just a little dongle so it must be software based. And if it's software based it should be something that could be incorporated into ripbot or handbrake or similar. Any ideas?? I just sent an email to the company to see if they know whether or not the device speeds up any of the known converter software that currently exists.

    I also found this one.

It claims to be only for Mac I think, but seems very similar.

  3. Those are toys. Don't bother

They don't integrate with ripbot264 or any other front end that uses x264 (or any retail h264 encoding software)

Most are limited to baseline profile (horrible quality) and SD resolutions

If you want more speed get a new pc (core i7)
