  1. Does anyone know how to capture from a site that only allows you to WATCH the video, such as streaming mpeg, ram, mov and all kinds of formats?

  2. Most people suggest using streambox vcr or asfrecorder. You can find them in the tools section. I personally don't know how to work these so you might have to find some guides on them.

    for example

    i want to download the last trailer of smallville from
    http://www.thewb.com/Shows/Episode/0,8201,||1883,00.html

    i usualy select view source, and copy the url

  4. if using windows, right-click next to the quicktime movie and veiw source. found this:

    'rtsp://demand2.stream.aol.com/turner/gl/thewb/home/qt/SM318-trl_100k.mov'

    also look in your temp IE files: (win2k and XP sample)

    'C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files'

    click the file type label to sort by file type. *.mov will be between *.png and *.swf files. You have to cut and paste to a new folder and clean up the name a little.

    Snagit can also capture audio/video for streaming and save to a .avi file. You can play back with window media player.
    1. Launch Snagit
    2. Goto Tool and select Video capture
    3. Goto Input and check Record Audio
    4. Goto your browser and start the streaming
    5. Hit the red capture button and use your mouse to select video display
    6. The Snagit window will pop and press start.
    7. The red camera icon will be flashing on your task bar. Double click it to stop recording.
