  1. Anyone know a good free streaming audio recorder? Freecorder? Contains spyware? Tried audio forums but mixed reviews. Some say great, some say spyware--who to believe. Any help would be appreciated.

    A really good $20 one is Total Recorder. I've had a lcense for it for 5 or 6 years now, so haven't had to try the free ones.

    MP3DirectCut is simple, free and useful to do this -- as its name suggests, it records to MP3. It has a simple editing interface to cut, join and adjust volume losslessly.

    Audacity is a useful tool though it takes a bit of learning.
    You can record whatever your computer is playing. Then you can edit & amplify and export as mp3 (provided you download the lame encoder).
