I am creating a poll just to answer peoples questions about blockyness and issues on DV tape. Just answer how many times you reuse your tapes before the quality starts to degrade so that people will have an average. I might come back and edit this post later, its 12:42am and i have to get up at 6am later today to go to school. sorry if i am making no sense or sounding mean, its late and i'm getting cranky.

i find that as long as i blank the tape and reset the timecode, i can use them many times. i have a few tapes that are about 4 years old that get blocky when i use them. but any other tapes i havent had any problems with

40 full uses, then I pitch them. Same as computer backup tapes (which they are).

I usually get about 10 recordings out of them before they start to act up. Once I see any blockyness, I trash them.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
