    I encoded an mpg file to avi because i wanted to do some editing on it. I have another portion of a different mpg that I would like to join with the first, but i can't remember waht settings I used on the first file to make it.

    Neither mpg will play in QT. However, on the encoded avi of the first file, the data in the saved .mov are this from the movie properties:

    Movie > Properties SFT > Data MEncoder dev-CVS-030226-15:00-3.1
