I've got an R200 that I may need to return to Gateway because of a problem that occurs occasionally - about every one in 10 or so discs I get has a few stray small ink splots on the printout. Therefore, I'm wondering (especially for those of you who own an R300), would it really be worth spending an extra $80 and going with the R300 instead. I'm leaning towards not doing this, since I really only use the printer for discs. However, I saw the printer yesterday at Best Buy and it looks very nice.

They are the same printer, only the R300 adds direct printing from memory cards.

  3. only reason I went with 300 over 200 is the card ports can be used in passthrough to the PC and I didn't have a card reader already. there really isn't any difference in the mechanics of the printer itself.

  4. Poppa_Meth,

The pass through is something I didn't think off.
    I bought a R200 I haven't open and considering returning it
for a R300. What kind of Memory Cards can it read.?

    Thanks,

I have a R300, but the only reason I choose that over the 200 was because I was able to purchase it for $60 from Gateway via their store closing clearances. I'd get the 200 unless the card reader function is important to you.

  6. The R300 reads CompactFlash, Microdrive, MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital, SmartMedia and xD cards. This was a great option for me. I was able to get rid of my other card reader running at usb 1.1. Now I can read cards from almost everyone and have less clutter on my desk.

  7. Thanks Chargerdan,

Is there a good site for explaining all these types of memory?
I only familiar with SD and XD memory.

  8. The differences between the cards are restricted to physical and electrical differences. To the file system on your computer they all look the same.
