For VCD(s) or mpeg1 to DVD, the best tool is TMPGEnc DVD Author. It is very easy and intuitive to use. It only took 5 minutes for a senior citizen like me to learn it.

TMPGEnc DVD Author is a DVD authoring software. It takes mpeg or DVD VOB file. In your case, you need to rip/convert the .bin or .dat from the VCD first using VCDGear or ISOBuster to mpeg1 file first. Once you have the mpeg file, author the DVD using TMPGEnc DVD Author with the mpeg file. At the end, there is a built-in DVD burning tool which you can use it to burn the DVD.

VCD is MPG-1 which is compliant for dvd. The part of vcd that isn't compliant is the 44Khz audio.....dvd requires 48Khz audio.
So TDA simply resamples (converts) the audio before burning.
Now, with downloaded VCD's (any nudity?...
), there may be other problems with the video; most notably GOP sequence problems, but there are easy and effective fixes for most of those problems.

I second the opinion regarding Tmpgenc DVD Author above, epecially xcool who seems pretty knowledgeable for a senior citizen! Tmpgenc DVD Author is more flexible with mpeg1 files than most other programs.

I didnt want VCD Quality on DVD, How do I get DVD Quality? Is this DVD Quality or what? Dont seem so

Lemme see if I got this right...You have VCD video you want to burn to DVD and you also want to transform it into high quality DVD video. That's like turning lead into gold, let me know when you find the secret. Geeze, it sounds even sillier when I write it down.

Thats because what you want to do is impossible. How do you think you are going to change a low quality VCD into a high quality DVD. Making the VCD files DVD compliant does not somehow magically increase the quality of the files.Originally Posted by Stephenc97

It will still be a DVD, its just that it will only have the image quality of a VCD. If you want the image quality generally associated with DVD (I say this beacause just because something is on DVD does not guarantee a good quality image) you need to start with a DVD source not a VCD source. So how do I get to DVD?
You have already been told that you can use TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert and author your VCD files to DVD.How do I make DVDs with my video files. -
Unfortunately but you can't polish a turd and this what you are trying to do by turning a VCD into a DVD. You can burn VCD onto a DVD by tweaking the audio from 44 to 48 khz, the advantage being you get a few films onto a DVD but without a high quality source you're not gonna get a high quality end product, ever. Garbage in = garbage out. Simple.Originally Posted by Stephenc97
