Just after i finished capturing from tv, i shut down the capture software and my computer blue screened.
When i rebooted i get this message when i try and play it.
Cannot playback the file. The format is not supported.
Tried opening it with Media player, Zoomplayer and virtualdub![]()
Is there a way of fixing this, i really wanted this as well![]()

mebbe someone else will have a solution, but don't think you will have much luck with salvaging that file.
what capping app were you running ?Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping... -
You can repair most any capture - but you didn't tell us what format you captured it in?
if it was DivX then just run it through DivFix -- if your capture never got to write an index into the file then it would give you that error
If it was MPG then you can run it through the MPEG fix built into VCDGear
.... fill us in on what the file type is an I'm sure it can be fixedyour pal,

That's weird, i've been running xp since it came out and I have never 'blue screened'. Sounds like a problem other than a codec, probably not salvagable.
If it works, don't fix it.
