  1. Hey everyone. Here is my problem. I ripped the movie only part of a movie with DVDShrink with no compression. Then I use InstantCopy to burn the movie onto a dvd. InstantCopy had to down size the movie to 93%. I checked the AUTOMATIC checkbox to resize the movie to fit on a dvd-r. But the problem is, after conversion of the movie with InstanCopy and when I try burn the newly converted movie on the dvd-r, it says my blank dvd-r doesn't have enough space. This is weird because I assume when I resize it and it stays in the green part of the resizing bar, it should fit on a dvd-r? Any one have any ideas why this is happening? Let me know, thanks

    Using SONY DRU500AX with Ritek G03 media.

  2. same thing is happening to me and has never happened before. I've tried several times, one time taking the total size all the way down to 4.15gb. WAY into the green. Each time, the pdi comes out to about 4770 million bytes. 70 mil too big. But EVERY time, even tho I keep changing the settings. I started at 4.35, ended with 4.15 and still too big.

    ????????????????????????

    To have an accurate file size you need to add the file sizes up by hand.

    444,333,222,111

    4's = GB
    3's = MB
    2's = KB
    1's = bytes

    3.85 GB = 3,850,000,000 bytes
    74.32 MB = 74,320,000

    change all the file sizes into bytes and when you total them up, take that total and divide it by 1024, then by 1024, then 1024 and the decimal on your calculator is the accurate file size after encoding.

  4. I've seen a lot of issues with IC about getting the correct file size.
    But I've seen it usually sizes to small, 3.9Gig instead of 4.35Gig or such.

    This oversizing might be part of the same issue. If it is, then I have yet to see a fix for it.

    I think the issue is more noticable when trying to backup a anamorphic widescreen movie.

    If it's only 93% compression then you might want to just stick with DVDShrink.
