    hey there, I was wondering if someone could help me out,
    I wanted to extract the movies from the final fantasy 8 PC game version, can someone please tell me how I would do this?

    I explored the cd, but the movies are not avi's they're some weird data formatt....

    I've never tried extracting the movies from the PC version, but I've done it for the PSX version...

    Perhaps it is still the same format... a form of MJPEG. If you search the internet for PSX editing/copying tools, you find utilities for extracting the FMV of PSX discs and converting them to normal AVI. Perhaps they'll work for the PC version as well...

    Good luck! FF8 has some of the best FMV of any PSX game.

    go to MEGAGAMES and search their sections on GAME FIXES. you might find something linked under it. thats where i found my movie ripper for PSX games.
