This might be slightly OT, but I just read some old articles about Fluorescent Multi-layer Disc (articles usually written in 2000/2001) and FMD was supposed to be the next big thing with 100+ Gig capacity / disk. But not only I don't see any FMD player on the market (should've been out in 2001/2002), haven't read anything about recent development either. How far did C3D get with the development of FMD technology? Or was all that just a cleverly disguised scam to get investors' money, perchance?

Plasmon was slated to start production in 2002, don't believe it ever started. Plasmon does make other optical storage products now though.
C3D most likely went belly up. Constellation 3D disappeared August 2002, and nothing since then. They had multilayer discs and "cards" on paper, and, said to have prototypes. Don't ever remember any tests, or hands on reports being done.
