  1. For some reason, whenever I capture using VirtualVCR as avi either with MJPEG, Huffyuv, or DivX, it takes forever for TMPGEnc to load the file and to seek through it and it often crashes. I have decent system specs other than the 5400 rpm HDD, but I can load these files fine into VDUB and seek no problem, and then I can frameserve to TMPGenc no problem. Just wondering if there are any settings I can use in TMPGEnc or VVCR so I can avoid the hassles of frameserving from VDUB.

In TMPGenc, hit options - Environmental settings - VFAPI plugin.

    what order is everything in?

Try directshow at the top, AVI2 at the top, and AVI VFW at the top. one of them will perform best with your codec.
