if you are using a newer version of Windows, you shouldn't need drivers.

I don't think there's an OEM version of this drive. It looks nothing like the 107. You can see pictures of the drives here:

Do you think I can find the OEM version of this drive in Tigerdirect store here in Miami, FL?
I visited BestBuy and CircuitCity but they only have the RETAIL drive not the OEM drive.
Someone can help me? -
why do you not want to buy online
if you go with a big company you can usually save up to 20% on hardware compared to highstreet
the only time ive seen bare drives being sold (OEM) is the odd managers special when the box was lost
highstreet stores last time i looked (must have been over a year ago as i buy all hardware online now its so much easier and cheaper) always sell you the hardware in a cardboard box which you throw in the trash
and all of a sudden a bit of cardboard is worth $20+
the us version of bestbuy seems cheap (compared to british prices on most items)
im sure that a lot of people can recommend a decent online store in america which ships quickly -
if you insist on buying the writer from a shop
you must have a
staples / office supply / pc world? near by
id guess even walmart sell them (im sure i read they had a computer section)
pretty much all electronic shops stock them
i cant believe i have wasted so much time writing this
its like asking where do you buy food from -
Not just carp-board, you also get screws cables and software. The last being the worthwhile bit. NEro6 to buy $40+, get it free in your burner box. Also in USA OEM stuff often only has 3mth Gtee. Uk retail prices are a bit steep, online is ok tho.
Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons. -

For the life of me, I don't understand:
a) Your (rather vociferous) objection to buying online (there are millions of satisfied customers who have done so); and
b) Why you absolutely must have the OEM version. After all, if you look on Tigerdirect.com's web site, you'll find they're selling the 107D for $179.99 less a $30 rebate. BEST BUY is selling the A07XLA for the exact same price less the same $30 rebate. IOW, same price! The only way to really save money here is to buy online (but see (a) above). -

cant remember the last time i saw a built computer with a free ide slot on the motherboard so you have to use the free ide connector of an existing ribbon
3mth guarauntee
guarauntees are often not worth the paper they are written on
however my housemate has killed 2 ibm harddrives and i was pleasantly surprised when he got replacements from the manufacturer
so a longer warranty could be useful depends on the small print
nero 6
im also looking at buying the pioneer ao7
i have nero 5 can it burn dvds?
if not then its worth having a copyof nero 6
first site i just looked on (overclockers uk)
oem drive is £85
Pioneer DVR-A07 8x DVD±RW - Retail is £98
so prices in uk similar to those in US retail same as you before rebate
oem slightly cheaper than best buy after rebate
im slightly surprised i always thoought hardware (all electronics in fact)were a fair bit cheaper in the USA
if the pound hadnt gained nearly 20% on the$ recently
it would have been slightly more expensive for me to buy the drive in america (unless there are cheaper online sites in america than bestbuy)
before just under $1.50 to the pound
now (last time i looked) just under $1.80
please answer

I never had any problems with either version when it came to simply burning data to DVD R's.Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.
